Why is it Hard to Trust My Intuition?
Isn’t funny, how we can have intuition that is right time after time, but still not be certain we can trust it?
Recently someone told me he was having the same intuition over and over, and he knew that it was right. He wanted to know what I thought of this?
At first I was shocked that he could:
- Be aware he was having an intuition and
- Know it was right but
still not follow it.
He was waiting for more proof — something he could touch, smell, and show to someone else.
While intuition is actually very common, most people ignore or suppress it — and expect others around them to do the same. We learn by example in childhood.
This is deeply unfortunate, because a finely tuned intuition is our greatest ally.
While we may have a history of ignoring our intuition, it turns out our ancestors were incorrect. Scientific evidence in validation of intuition is growing.
Still… How do you trust your intuition when you cannot see it with your outer eyes, hear it with your outer ears or touch it with your skin?
The short answer is: you test it. Build trust over time by paying attention to results.
