Surprisingly often, people ask the question: Is self-love narcissistic? They wonder if self-love is at the root of what is wrong with the world, and how people can encourage us to find it.
Perhaps you already know better, but on the surface, self-love and narcissism can appear alike. This is particularly true when people describe self-love as shopping sprees and bubble baths.
However, the truth is self-love and narcissism are as different as can be. For example:
- Self-love is full, Narcissism is empty.
- Self-love wants win-win, Narcissism wants win-lose.
- Self-love nurtures well-being, Narcissism drains well-being.
