Do You Have a Steady Flow of Vitality for Life?
Where do you get your energy? If you watch commercials, they seem to say it’s from energy drinks. Stimulants provide bursts of productivity or relief from fatigue, but true vitality for life is something different.
A common misunderstanding is to identify young people, athletes, and ultra-masculine men as vital.
Yes young and physically fit people can be energetic, but so might someone’s eighty year old grandma who still gardens every morning. She can’t run a marathon or win a cage match, but her eyes are bright and she is engaged with her life.
Spiritual vitality refers to a steady flow of life force at any age or fitness level. Connected, we feel buoyant and supported. We have the energy we need for our day to day.
What blocks this invigorating sustentation is whatever has us off balance.
If our relationships are rocky, career uncertain, or finances undergoing stress – our mind and body take a toll. Past trauma and old resentments, if unresolved, can weigh us down.
Spiritual vitality is an attribute of the divine masculine. We make think of vitality as a hot flame that bursts and then dies out, but divine vitality is a steady, vibrant flow. It’s the ideal mix of fuel for our balanced engine.
Many people dampen their own vitality because they compare themselves to others.
Constant measuring up keeps us in a defensive or aggressive mode and out of our centered alignment.
What others have accomplished, or enjoy, is irrelevant to our life path. It is easy to idealize the accomplishments of others after they’ve already been at it a while. No one receives an Emmy their first day of acting. Hours, weeks, years of effort have already gone into the performance that finally gets our attention.
However, for our own accomplishments we don’t get the benefit of hindsight. We have to forge ahead into an uncertain future. We have to wade through the uncomfortable beginning, and believe in ourselves when others will not.
In the darkness of not knowing, fear can be our single biggest block to vitality. We fear failure, or loss, and hold ourselves back from the natural actions vitality would be inspire us to take.
Vitality supports our momentum forward.
We gain vitality for life by living in balance. When we eat, sleep, think and feel in alignment, our vitality steadily supports us.
